Tra Cielo e Cinema: Sacred music and cinema come together in a concert by the Società Filarmonica Nazionale La Valette

The concert Tra Cielo e Cinema was officially launched during a press conference held on Friday 10 April at the premises of the Società Filarmonica Nazionale La Valette. During the launch, the programme for the evening was announced. The concert will take place on 20 June at Pjazza Teatru Rjal and will feature world-renowned conductor Monsignor Marco Frisina, as well as the first trumpeter of the celebrated composer Ennio Morricone, Nello Salza.

In his welcome address, the President of the Società Filarmonica Nazionale La Valette, Jonathan Grima, stated that he was honoured that Monsignor Marco Frisina had once again accepted the invitation to lead another concert together with La Valette’s orchestra. He added that the concert is expected to be a truly special occasion, as it will also feature the internationally acclaimed first trumpeter Nello Salza, whose work can be heard in some of the finest musical pieces by Ennio Morricone, Academy Award-winning composer for Best Original Score.

The concert will also feature soprano Rosabelle Bianchi, tenor Alan Sciberras, the choir Cappella Caeciliana under the direction of Abraham D’Amato, as well as the Musical Director of the Società Filarmonica Nazionale La Valette, Mro. Dominic Darmanin. The evening will be presented by Mario Micallef.
